Outdoor Weekend - A lonely time to grow a fire on the riverbank -

What I'm passionate about right now is camping. After being invited by a senior at work to casually participate, I fell in love with the feeling of spending time in nature. Whenever he finds free time, he invites colleagues and seniors from his workplace to go out in the field, but knowing that he gets bored easily, he also wants to learn more and more about the appeal of the outdoors.

I'm careful to call out to my seniors every time, and after reading through magazines and the internet to see if there's a game that I can enjoy on my own slowly and quietly, I thought why not start a fire from scratch?

My own small outdoor weekend has started.

A holiday where you can ride the bus isn't so bad.

The destination is Hanno, which is rich in nature. It's a favorite area that can be easily visited, just over an hour by train and bus from the city center. It's actually my first time going alone, so I'm a little nervous. When I get off the melancholy stop, as if time has stopped, I'm just a few steps away from the field that awaits me.

I went down a road a little off the national highway. As the sound of the river got closer and closer, the air became clearer. Before I knew it, a riverbed surrounded by greenery was spreading out in front of me. The grove of cedar trees as far as the eye can see is also a valuable resource that supports local industry in this area. It's fun to fantasize about riding in a canoe made from wood from Hanno someday, but I have to switch to the most important thing: finding a base. Once you find a place that looks good, let's take a break.

Prepare carefully. But skillfully.

Precisely because you want to enjoy a relaxing time in the second half, you want to proceed with your preparations in a calm manner.
Today's challenge is to start a fire without relying on the usual gas torches and matches. The outcome will likely be determined by whether or not you carefully select branches and firewood that are likely to dry well.
I've been using the bonfire stand ``McRite'' twice since last month, and I was able to set it up in just 30 seconds. The taste has come out, and it might be cooler if you don't dare to clean it.

Grind away mindlessly until it grows.

We use the knife work ``feather stick'', which shaves off the tips of branches and firewood to make it easier to start a fire, and the ``fire starter'', a tool that uses a striker and a stick made of metals such as magnesium or ferrocerium to start a fire. Let's start a fire right away.

Once you get used to it, you'll be able to produce a big spark. It doesn't require any strength, and even someone like me who doesn't like the hassle was able to do it surprisingly easily. When I saw smoke coming out, I thought it was a success, but it disappeared in an instant and it was a failure... It's not good to rush, so be calm and calm.

Perhaps it was worth the preparation on YouTube, but I managed to clear it. Use a fire blowing stick to delicately blow air into the crater, which is about a few millimeters wide. I have to be careful not to get too desperate and inhale the smoke.
I was worried that the firewood would be a little long, but since it has a wide fire pit, I can hold it firmly. After that, I carefully added the firewood and adjusted the heat for cooking lunch.

This time I used a sandwich menu that I saw on SNS as a reference. I thought I would have a hard time preparing avocados at home. Cook the eggs in a skillet that cooks easily. He devised a technique for smoking bacon by hanging it on a trivet and cooking it.

Prepare the coffee so you can drink it as soon as it's done. The empty riverbed echoes with the sound of bacon fat dripping onto the fire and hot water gushing out of the kettle spout.

I love coffee so much that I drink it every morning. Perhaps the best part of going solo is being able to enjoy a luxurious, hand-dripped cup all to yourself. Am I the only one who feels like coffee beans look like living things every time hot water is poured over them?

I took a picture of today's lunch, but I'm afraid my seniors will criticize me for eating avocado alone (lol), so I'll refrain from posting it on social media. Next time, I would like to try a more masculine menu.
Once your stomach is full, it's time to chill out and do nothing. The bitter taste of coffee goes down my throat as I look out over the riverbank, slightly illuminated by the setting sun. Now is the time when I can say that I am truly blessed from the bottom of my heart.

The wind started to pick up a bit, so I started cleaning up before I got cold. Since it's not a campsite, I decided to wrap the ashes in aluminum and take them home. I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I burn firewood from a well-fertilized maple tree beautifully.
I expected that I would feel lonely if I was alone, but the time I spent in an environment where I was the only one who existed naturally passed by in the blink of an eye.

Nothing left behind. I have also checked the bus times. Although I felt a little unsatisfied with the day camp, I was able to successfully start the fire, which was my task, and my hunger was satisfied, so it was a very satisfying day. Even though I am a novice camper who has only been camping for two or three years, the world of outdoors is deep and I felt that I would never get bored of it.
