Point 2: Select the brightness that is appropriate for the scene in which you will use it.
The light you use for camping needs to have the appropriate brightness for the scene, depending on whether you use it as the main light or as a sub light. "Im (lumens)" is used as a unit of brightness, and the higher the number, the more light there is, and the brighter it is.
[Estimated brightness is as follows]
- Main light: 1,000lm or more is safe
- Sublight: 200-500lm is the standard
- Table light: 200-300lm is the standard
- Light inside the tent: 100-300lm is recommended
Choose the brightness of the light based on the guidelines above.
LED lanterns are recommended as lights to use inside the tent! Please be careful when using fuel-based lanterns inside a tent, as there is a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Point 3: You can rest assured that the continuous lighting time is 7 to 8 hours.
If you want to use it until you fall asleep at night or as a night light, it is safe to have a continuous lighting time of about 7 to 8 hours. The continuous lighting time is stated in the product details, so be sure to check it.
Also, if you plan to stay for more than one night, you will need to prepare power from a portable power source, spare batteries, and fuel. Even if you calculate and use the light for 4 hours on the previous day and 4 hours on the second day, the continuous lighting time will be affected by the brightness and temperature during use.
If you want to stay overnight without having to worry about time constraints or the stress of not knowing when your fuel will run out, use extra fuel sources.
Point 4: Checking durability is also important
Most camping lights are used outdoors. High durability is also important as it will be exposed to dust, rain, and dew. Make sure it has "dustproof" functions to prevent sand and dust, and "waterproof/splash-proof" functions to prevent water such as rain and condensation.
It is often expressed as an IP standard for protection grade, and the dustproof/waterproof (dripproof) performance can be determined by the number in "〇〇" of IP〇〇.
