The need for an outdoor table for camping

An outdoor table is an essential item for enjoying camping comfortably. It can serve not only as a dining table, but also as a cooking table, side table, storage stand, etc.

For walking or touring camping where you want to reduce the amount of luggage you carry, a table that can be stored compactly can be used for multiple purposes as a cooking table or dining table.

When auto camping, the carrying capacity increases, so in addition to the main table used as a dining table, having several sub-tables will make camping even more comfortable.

Tips for choosing an outdoor table for camping

When choosing an outdoor table for camping, it is important to keep a few tips in mind. Follow these seven tips to choose the outdoor table that best suits your camping style.

1. Decide the size based on the number of users
2. There are mainly two types of heights
3. Let's also pay attention to the material
4. check weight
5. The best is one that can be stored compactly.
6. Let's also check how to assemble it.
7. Highly functional items are convenient

Tip 1: Decide the size based on the number of users

When deciding the size of the table to be used as a dining table, it is a good idea to use the number of people as the standard.

Outdoor tables are basically used as a set with outdoor chairs. The width of outdoor chairs is approximately 50 to 60 cm, so consider the layout in which you will sit when deciding on the width and length of the table.

Below are recommended table widths for each number of users.

• Solo camp: Width 30-60cm
• Duo camp: width 50-90cm
• 3-4 people: Width 90-120cm
• 5 people or more: Width 120cm or more

Tip 2: There are mainly two types of height.

Outdoor tables are divided into two types depending on their height: high type and low type. Take note of the characteristics of each and choose a table with a height that matches your camping style.

-High type

Tables with a height of around 70cm are classified as "high type". Its height is about the same as a home dining table, making it easy to stand and sit on. Used in conjunction with a high type outdoor chair.

A high table is also attractive because it makes it easier to eat with a good posture, making it easier to slouch than a low table with a lower tabletop. Another advantage is that when you work in a standing position while cooking, you don't have to bend over, which reduces your back pain.

Heat sources such as cutlery, hot pots, and burners are located at a height that is difficult to reach, so you can feel safe when camping with small children.

-Low type

Tables with a height of about 30 to 40 cm are classified as "low type". It can be used as a set with a low chair, or in a ``jibeta style'' style without a chair.

The main attraction is that it lowers your line of sight and increases the feeling of relaxation. Also, because you are close to the ground, you can feel closer to nature and enjoy the feeling of being outdoors.

Furthermore, a low chair that is used as a set with a low table allows you to sit with your legs stretched out, so you won't get tired even if you sit for a long time.

Tip 3: Pay attention to the material

Outdoor tables are made of a variety of materials for their tops. Each material has different characteristics, so choose a table made of a material that suits your camping style.

- Made of bamboo and wood with a stylish appearance

A stylish bamboo/wooden table with a natural texture. The top plate made of natural materials allows you to create a tent site with a gentle, natural atmosphere. Recommended as the main table for family camping, where you can gather together.

Wood is sensitive to heat, so you will need a trivet when placing hot pots, etc.

-Made of lightweight & heat-resistant aluminum

A lightweight aluminum table made of heat-resistant metal. Especially recommended for walking camping and touring camping. Because it is resistant to heat, it can also be used as a cooking table for using burners or stoves, or as a table for storing hot tools such as fire scissors and gas torches.

- Made of stainless steel with excellent durability and heat resistance

The table is also made of metal and is made of heat-resistant stainless steel. You can also place burners and hot pots directly on it, which is convenient. Although it is heavier than aluminum, it is strong, rust-resistant, and highly durable.

- Made of cloth for easy carrying

A very lightweight and highly portable "cloth" table. Many of our products can be stored compactly, and can be used as a side table for dining and drinks during solo camping, or as a small storage stand. However, it is sensitive to heat, so you cannot place burners or hot pots directly on it.

Tip 4: Check the weight

When camping on foot or camping overnight while climbing, it is necessary to check the weight of the table. Choose one that is as lightweight as possible so that it will not be a burden to carry around.

Even if you are camping by car, cars are not allowed on the free sites. It is best to avoid heavy tables as they may be difficult to carry from the parking lot.

Tip 5: Check the assembly method

Outdoor tables can be assembled in two ways: foldable and assembled.

The "folding type" has all parts integrated, and installation is completed immediately by simply unfolding it. It is not suitable for compact storage, so if you use a larger table, you will need storage space.

``Assembly-type'' tables are set up by assembling separate parts. Although it takes some time to set up and take down, the storage size is quite compact.

Tip #6: Items that can be stored compactly are best.

Loading capacity is limited for walking camping, touring camping, and even auto camping. Therefore, choose a table that can be stored as compactly as possible.

Even if you have limited storage space at home, a table that can be stored compactly will come in handy.

``Assembly-type'' tables that can be separated into parts have a compact storage size, so they are recommended for those who value portability and storage.

Tip 7: Highly functional items are convenient

In addition to being used as a table, products with additional functions can be used conveniently while camping.

For example, if you have a table with a storage rack or net under the top, you can keep the top, which tends to get cluttered with luggage, neat and tidy.

There is also a hearth table in the center where you can place a bonfire stand or BBQ stove, so the person managing the fire can sit around the table with everyone else.

4 tables from TOKYO CRAFTS

TOKYO CRAFTS has a lineup of four tables. Each table has its own concept, so be sure to check out which one fits your camping style.

“Zika Table” is recommended for solo campers

First of all, I would like to introduce the " Zika Table " recommended for solo campers.

Most mini tables for solo camping are A4 size. However, many people may feel that it would be easier to cook if it was a little bigger.

The Zika table is an exquisite size with a width of 39cm, which is an extra 10cm from A4 size. The width makes it easy to cook using a burner or cutting board.

The top plate uses aluminum material. You can also place burners and hot pots directly. The punching process also reduces weight. It looks light and has a smart impression.

"Sleek Modern Table" is for families

The ` `Sleek Modern Table '' is easy to use for solo camping, group camping for up to 4 people, and family camping. Sleek means "sophisticated". As the name suggests, this is a simple and modern table with minimal waste.

The concept is "a folding table that is spacious yet highly portable." The assembly method is foldable and installation can be completed in 10 seconds. Although it is a foldable type that tends to be large in storage size, it is only 5.5cm thin when stored. It doesn't take up much storage space in your car's luggage compartment or at home.

The top plate is made of bamboo material, which has high strength and does not warp easily. By processing the inside of the bamboo material into a honeycomb structure that maintains its strength, we have also successfully reduced the weight. When stored, the aluminum alloy frame becomes a handle, making it easy to carry.

"Coside table" is perfect for relaxing time

The " coside table " is perfect for reading or relaxing. Made of lightweight and heat-resistant aluminum.

At 30cm in height, it goes perfectly with compact chairs. The height makes it easy to pick up a paperback book for reading, or grab a cup of coffee or alcohol while relaxing while watching a bonfire.

Of course, it can also be used as a cooking table or dining table when camping on foot or sleeping in a tent. Also, when car camping, you can make it harder to lose small items by keeping your smartphone, car keys, wallet, etc. in a fixed place.

It is lightweight, weighing approximately 816g, and has a storage size of approximately 33 x 11 x 3 cm. This is a table that you can put in your backpack and take with you anywhere.

“Chord Unit” is highly expandable and allows you to enjoy arranging it.

" Cord Unit " is a versatile gear that can be used for multiple purposes such as a table or storage stand. Not only can you use it alone, but you can also combine multiple pieces to expand the variety of ways you can use it.

Made of heat-resistant and highly durable stainless steel, it has a load capacity of 10kg. You can also place hot Dutch ovens directly.

By stacking the cord units vertically, you can use them as two-tier shelves. You can also connect them horizontally to create a large table that can be used by families or groups. You can also use it as a hearth table by connecting it around a bonfire or BBQ stove.

There are also a wide range of options, including the Bucket Shelf Mesh, which can be used as basket-type storage, and the top board, which can be used for connection. You can enjoy even more arrangements.

The cord unit can be used in infinite ways depending on how you combine it, making it a recommended table for those who enjoy a variety of camping styles.
