A collaboration model: a full-fledged chest bag suitable for camping, general outdoor use, and everyday carry from a vest maker with over 30 years of history.
This collab chest bag is a partnership between TOKYO CRAFTS and "Minowa Vest Laboratory," a brand launched by a manufacturer that has produced vests for outdoor brands for over 30 years. To support a variety of outdoor activities, the bag includes a waist belt and an internal tarpaulin attachment for placing dirty items, allowing separation of gear. The material is ripstop nylon "Mipan regen," with a unique soft tone. It is customized with flame-retardant treatment so it can be used near campfires. The color is an original blue gray. This is a special finish befitting TOKYO CRAFTS' first chest bag.
This chest bag was developed pursuing "ease of use" for both outdoor and daily life. The project began from the desire to eliminate small frustrations like "when moving around camp, necessary tools can't be reached quickly."
Shoulder bags and sacoche are light and easy to move in but have limited capacity, while backpacks make it hard to access gear quickly when needed. So what is a truly easy-to-use bag for camping and outdoor use?
We focused on fishing bags. Fishing requires free use of both hands and immediate access to necessary gear.
Based on that functionality, we developed a custom specification that enhances convenience for camping and outdoor activities. The fabric is MIPAN regen (blue gray), a color that fits everyday use. It has been treated with flame-retardant processing so it can be used safely near campfires.
Our biggest focus was the "stretch pocket that can hold a single 500 ml PET bottle." Whether exploring at camp, fishing, or shooting, when you want to move as light as possible, a dedicated space for hydration is essential.
This feature alone greatly improves carrying comfort.
We also refined other usability details: the front pocket is designed for intuitive access; the back uses a material with breathability and cushioning for comfort during long use; and a waist belt prevents the bag from shifting during active scenes. Aiming to be "an outdoor bag you'll want to use every day," this chest bag thoroughly pursues the balance of design and function. Please experience it not as "just storage" but as "gear that supports active movement.
